DotNetNuke 5: A Peek Under the Hood

Darrell Hardy of Hardy Consulting will be speaking the ODUG.  He will be walking through some of the DNN 5 source code, giving us a peek at how DNN 5 works.

Why is this important?

There are many times when developers will write helper methods and classes that aren't necessary.  Most times, DotNetNuke has these classes already written for you!  Darrell will be showing us some of the cool "guts" of DNN that will make every developers life easier.

There is also a lot to be learned about how DNN works.  There is much to benefit from in knowing some of the nuts and bolts, even if you're not a programmer.  This knowledge will help you better plan module installations, skin installations, configuration settings, and more.

Who is Darrell Hardy?

Darrell Hardy has been designing and building data driven applications for over 20 years.  Having spent several years working with a management consulting firm, he brings to the table not only technical expertise but also an understanding of the business side of the equation.  His passion is for software that matches business processes and allows for improvements in the business process as well as the software.  Currently Darrell is the Vice President of Hardy Consulting, Inc.
