How to Style Container Menus  (United States)

Hi everyone,

What is the simplest way to style container menus. Here is an example that shows what I am looking to do:

The following menu is hard to read and I would like to restyle it:

Here is a nicely styled menu, that I would like to acheive:

Here is the code for the container that I am creating (The container that I am creating is transperant, which is desired, but the menus are transparent and that is not desired):
