Backup Module in 4.8.2?  (United States)

After the last  meeting there was a comment made that version 4.8.2 came with a backup-lite module. I do not see this module using the 4.8.2 upgrade package.  Does anyone have anymore information about this?

Dan was this a core module or a 3rd party module?

Re: Backup Module in 4.8.2?  (United States)

Terry said after installing 4.8.2 a new backup-lite module appeared. He wanted to know if any of us had used it.

I looked through my installation but don't see any new modules.

Re: Backup Module in 4.8.2?  (United States)

i just looked through a clean installation of v4.08.02.  I even did a file search for "*backup*" and did not find any files with "backup" in the file name.  That directory must have been dropped into their installation accidentally at some point.

Re: Backup Module in 4.8.2?  (United States)

Dan, I came across this module that might be helpful.

BackupScript Module - backup solution for DotNetNuke (DNN)

Summary

BackupScript allows you to perform on any ISP, even GoDaddy; a full dotnetnuke (DNN) sitebackup & restore (no matter if the database is local or remote), even from scratch (no DNN running): the database (any size is supported, all BLOB columns are supported) plus all files and folders on the site (including \portals, \bin, \desktopmodules, web.config file, etc.).
The database is scripted as standard, commented and readable .SQL files!. The module can build all the datababase objects and recreate the data.
The backup can be scheduled, among other options.
